100 days of love movie review

100 day s of love is the latest Mollywood film starring young sensation Dulquer Salman and Nithya Menon in lead roles. The film has been the keen Part of media since start of shoot due to the tagline a romantic movie. But could 100 days of love be a romantic extravaganza? Could it satisfy the expectation of the audience? Let us look for an answer for the same through this review

Plot

100 days of love has been tagged a romantic and so we could expect a lot of clichés in the movie as this belongs to such a particular genre. So first of all the answer is a no for those audience who hate such clichés. Just stay away from this film if you’re not an ardent fan of the romantic movies. For romantic movie lovers would it be a decent watch out? Let us analyse the plot of the movie first. The movie is based on the plot with main actor Dulquer Salman playing the role of Balan K Nair aka BKN. He is a columnist in a daily and lives with his friend Ummer (Shekhar Menon), who is a game enthusiast. BKN has been already heartbroken after a breakup and then he meets Sheela the character played by Nithya menon. She forgets her camera in his Taxi and later the love story line sprouts out which becomes the backbone of this romantic movie.

Cast and Performance

The cast has done complete jutice to their roles and we can proudly say that the backbone of the movie is youthful and energetic star cast. Dulquer Salman as usual fits in apt for this role as a young lover and the banglore based malayali girl role is safe in NIthya’s hands. Anyhow we should get more into happiness when we consider the energy of Shekar menon as friend. The chemistry between lead pairs makes this romantic thriller a decent fair. Anyhow the starting scene and BGM would be the best part of entire film as it is the scene where the chemistry completely works out in top notch

Technical aspects Pradheesh Varma's visuals make the movie a watchable romantic thriller. The cinematographer has succeeded in bringing out the beauty of Bangalore city in a natural sense. Sandeep Kumar's editing may be rated as a negative as the movie just gets into low pace at many places. Anyhow it was not that worse and is still an ok work to be done. Songs are the key part of any romantic movie and here it just fails to be superb. The song standard feels to be average but the BGM by Bijibal is the core and heart of this movie. The intro scenes of lead pair in first meeting to the end, BGM deserves a loud applause.

The pros and cons

The pros include lead cast performance. It was simply beautiful and the chemistry worked out well. But the weak script and low pace just ruined the magical chemistry. What would happen if a lead cast isn’t provided with good script? The same happened here too. Director deserves applause as it was his first attempt and he tried his level best to avoid clichés. The pain put forward by director to make ina differnet mood was pretty ok but he need more to work out. The selection of good scripts would help this debutant director more.

Rating

The final rating of t4topen for this movie is 3 out of 5 for it romantic chemistry and magical touch. The script is a big let-down and filled with typical clichés. This one is for hard-core Dulquer Salman lovers and for those who don’t mind the clichés in a romantic movie. To conclude, 100 days of love fares above average romantic movie tag at the end.
